Candle burning instructions

Before lighting

  • Remove any product description/band/sticker from around the candle before lighting.
  • Always use a non-flammable candle holder or base.
  • The candle must be placed at a sufficient distance from flammable materials such as curtains.
  • The candle should not be placed near objects that can be damaged by heat.
  • Trim the wick to approximately 0.5-1 cm before lighting.
  • Before re-lighting, cut off the charred tip.

While burning

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • If a carbon clump forms on the wick while burning, extinguish the candle immediately by smothering it. Cut off the charred part before re-lighting.
  • If the wick has moved to one side, move it to the center so the candle burns more evenly.
  • If the wick falls into the molten paraffin, immediately lift the wick to the center (e.g., with a knife). If the candle has already been extinguished, dig the wick out with a knife, light the candle, and let it burn for a moment, then pour off the molten stearin.
  • Ensure that decorations do not catch fire (collars, etc.).
  • When burning a pillar candle for the first time, burn it until the molten pool reaches the edges. A burning time of 3-4 hours prevents tunneling in thick (diam. 70mm) pillar candles.
  • Trim the wick if necessary; an optimal wick length is approx. 1 cm. A flame that is too long may smoke.
  • When candles are burning in a group, the distance between the flames should be 15-20 cm, otherwise the candles will melt each other.
  • Avoid drafts. In a drafty place, the candle burns faster and drips.
  • For fire safety, it is recommended to leave at least 1 cm unburned.

Extinguishing the candle

  • Extinguish the candle by dipping the wick into the molten liquid. Immediately lift the wick up and straighten it to harden. This can be easily done with a small stick or even a knitting needle.

Storing the candle

  • Store the candle in a cool place, protected from light (paraffin softens at temperatures above 30 °C).
  • Daylight may fade the candle.
  • Small scratches can be removed by gently rubbing with a cloth.
